The Third Annual Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) was held on Feb. 12-13 with many great programs, booths, and especially the people. Most of that went to the Expo were middle aged men, very few women and young teens. I was probably the youngest person there since I did not notice anyone that looked my age. There were many popular Linux distrobution booths at SCALE, among them were Gnome, Novell, KDE, Mambo, Gentoo, Debian, and Net/Free BSD. IBM was also involved in this expo with their servers and Sophos, an anti-virus tool. They had presentations ranging from networking to programs such as Samba and Knoppix. They also had ID cards to show you are in the Expo and so they can verified you paid admission. The card hoisters were given by IBM.

Has my name and everything :D

The staff were very friendly and helpful, I would have to say FreeBSD's booth had the friendliest two programmers, they handed out a set of discs that contained 2 CDs and a DVD that had the FreeBSD OS, Open Office, Developer Tools, Office Applications, and sysadmin Ultilities. They also has a great artist who designed the casing for these 3 amazing discs.

These two guys are like I said the friendliest duo there is.

KnoppMyth is another great CD they were distributing. It is a Linux Media Entertainment program according to mysettopbox.tv their official site.

Here are a few booths I took pictures of.

Check out this wicked flight simulation compiled in Linux

Linux users hates M$ right? Well seems like Bill Gates has gotten into Linux as well. . .

That concludes this special event on the third annual SCALE expo.

SCALE has some professional photos here from Day 1.
I will update when Day 2 comes out.
